3913 and 3953, difference?

What is the difference between the S&W 3913/3914 and the S&W 3953?

The 3913...

....is DA/SA. The 3953 is DAO. I have a 5943 and a 5903. The 5943 is DAO with an alloy frame. The 5903 is DA/SA with an alloy frame.

Also, the 3953 fires from the half-cock, giving a better DA pull.
Downside is no second strike capability.

The 3953 being dao has no safety decock lever and a longer slide at the rear to help shroud the hammer.

For me, a long time revolver carrier, the 3953 is my choice for a CCW, while the others (TDA) are nice range guns.

If you want double strike capability in a DAO - look for a 3914DAO - they show up occasionally on GB.

I'm with ya! Grew up shooting revolvers and exclusively carried revolvers for many years. Then the 3953 was my EDC for many years after that.
