I picked up a magazine at my LGS today. It looks exactly like a 3913 magazine, only it is not stamped 9mm or does it have the S&W logo.
I was just wondering if anyone can explain this?

I see that the one I have only is marked with the "S", on the right side, and NO "M"... Doesnt "M" mean modified?
I cant seem to see any bulletins or recalls on these magazine?

Older factory 3913 magazines are not marked in that manner. The only visible marks on older magazines are an "S" and "M" stamped on the right facing side.

I have four of the 3913 mags and none of them are marked other than the S and M. No S&W markings.

My 3913 was manufactured in 1996. It came with one magazine marked with the S&W emblem along with 9mm, S M. I purchased another when I bought the gun used in 2008 and it is only stamped with the letters S M.

MidwayUSA has S&W 3913 mags for sale, often (approx $30) I bought 10 so far. Carry the 3913 everyday and love it. Get a couple of flat mag pads and install them on your carry mags.
