3913 sight question

Hello: Will like to upgrade sights on the SW 3913. Would like to keep the same Novak style as originally offer by Trijicon part number SA24. I can still obtain the SA24 rear sight from Optics planet. But confused with the front sight height required. The SA24 states front sight height of .123 is needed. However, the new SA08 sight states the front height needs to be .138. I am confused because the rear height of both sights are the same.

Can you offer advisement on the correct front sight height?

The Trijicon SA24 came with a front sight .217" in overall height and .123" in blade height. That front sight is marketed separately as SA01F. I bought this sight to go with a rear sight that I had re-lamped before Trijicon removed the information concerning most Novak sights on their website.

S&W might have stock currently, could be worth a call.

Tritium lamped front is .232 tall from the base of the dovetail, standard white dot is .204 tall. That backsights are all the same height.

Not exactly sure why, but the Trijocon SA24's front sight is slightly shorter than the SA08 offering. It appears that Trijicon is discontinuing the SA24, which is why you are having a hard time finding a complete sight set.

As BMCM mentioned, the S&W factory night sights are Novak style, so you might have better luck finding a set of those. Or you could really hit Google/eBay hard and try and find a set of SA24's (even an old set that you could have Trijicon re-lamp for you).

I will say that I have both SA24's and SA08's on my 39xx guns, and am very happy with either one.

Both rear and front sight are offered on Optics Plant web sight, with the above two part numbers was the sight on for elevation?
