Does anyone know why a 3953 slide and barrel are slightly longer than the 3913 slide and barrel. There is not much difference but it looks like a ¼ in variation. I also put them on scales and the 3953 was just a little heavier than the 3913, which I would expect given its longer slide and barrel.

Both work well in the same holsters and appear identical in size in all other areas.

I had always thought they were the same size until I put them side by side.

The slide is the only part that is longer. They use the same barrel and recoil spring and guide rod. The difference is in the hammer. The slide was lengthened to accomadate the preloaded hammer. In the latter generation they used the same slide but had a longer trigger pull.

Thanks

Thanks for the info. I was beginning to think my eyes were going bad. LOL
