I guess I had never seen the 7 round mag bottom before. Is this a era mag base for the 7 round? Looks different than any other 3rd gen model. Are these still available anywhere?

Thanks,

Rosewood

Kinda looks like 4513TSW early model with the notched grip mag bottoms.

It’s for the pre-rail 3913TSW.

They occasionally show up for sale, (at realistic prices,) and are sometimes being advertised as CS9 magazines. I’ve gotten several like that.

Finding just the bases alone is even harder than the pre-rail 4513TSW. I am using the 3913TSW bases on CS9 magazine tubes because I have a bunch of CS9 mags. The 7rnd 9mm magazines work in both the 3913TSW and CS9.

Last time I called S&W customer service, they said that they had a few, but were holding them for LE customers. That had to be five years ago and I haven't tried since.

I have 262670000 as the part number for the 3913/53TSW. As noted this will also fit CS9

I have 239730000 as the part number for the 4513/4553TSW. Mine are installed on the magazines for my 457.

I have also been trying, without success, to find someone who can 3D print some. I have .obj and stl files for them, but couldn't locate anyone who was interested.

I've talked to a local to me shooter who also has done a good amount of 3d printing. I have to email him the files and perhaps a butt plate to see if he can make some. If I have any success and he's interested in producing them on demand I'll start a new thread.

Stand by.

I remember years ago you personally starting on this. I “think” I asked about an update and you were still trying. I was hoping it would go better than your experience with sending KSD a factory, pre-rail 3913 grip for them to duplicate in wonderful wood. 🙄

I don’t have any need/want of any more 7rnd 3913TSW magazines and or base/buttplates although I’m still following. What about the eBay source, (“get_a grip_on_it”,) that was duplicating the extended, (not extra capacity,) Classic Pistol/C.P. Bullets ones for the PC’s?

I have a buddy that has a 3d printer. Been waiting on him to make me a finger groove mag bottom for an original 4013 single stack. He has been having issues with his scanner. But if he had the file, he might be able to print one out.

I'll have to look into that if the local guy doesn't work out.

Yes, the project got detailed. First my friend who was working on the files lost the mental acuity to do that sort of thing. Which in itself took up a long time as I helped his family cope with that.

Then COVID. Then various other things until I happened to be talking with two guys and they started talking about their 3D printing gear.

We'll see what happens.

At this point I'm keeping all my options open. I'll keep this in mind.

If my buddy can successfully print out the mag bottoms, I will mail you a couple of them.

I considered buying my own 3d printer, but my computer is so old, it wouldn't likely run it and I would need a new computer too. But I guess I should go ahead and upgrade anyway...

Thanks,

Yep, the early compact TSW's with the cutaway grip frames had wider floorplates to conform to the cutout. Back when they were easily ordered I tried some of them on my CS45 & CS9.

9mm

Slightly flatter profile on grip frame w/o the cutout.

Older and late production 4513TSW's, with .45 versions.
