What length barrel is on the 3953? Same as the 3913?

Did the two tone "Performance Center Series" 3953 have a longer slide and barrel?

Does anyone here own one of those? Thanks! Regards 18DAI.

Thanks KurtC !! Best regards, 18DAI.

is this a CCO in its earliest form...

did Colt steal the idea for the Commander slide and Officers frame?

you getting one 18?

Hi CQB !!

You know thats what the PC 3953 reminded me of too, the CCO!!

Unfortunately I won't be getting one, as they are evidently scarcer than nice Shorty 45's!!

The elephants here are kicking around having us go with Glocks, or "other DAO" platforms. Since Probation & Parole went with M&P's, I'm thinking thats what might be coming. Personally, I'd carry a Glock before I let that happen.

I'm looking for a 3954.......just in case that happens.

IIRC you liked your 3953 pretty well. How was the DAO trigger for you? Did your agency consider it a DAO handgun?

Thanks! Regards 18DAI.

yes, I liked my 3953TSW which was actually a SW converted 3913TSW. I sold it to get the CS9D.

I was not a big DAO fan until I got the 3953TSW and my only current DAO platform is my CS9D. its OK too for a gut gun.

I am the person that all guns are sent to for approval other than regular issue and those guns (3953/CS9D) are considered DAO by our General Order.

unless you are referring to Glock which many call a DAO but its really not.

We finally got to replace our ageing 17 year old Glocks after a 5 yr start process. the G21SF...my very first shot failed to eject and then ran 100% after that. Others had the same first shot issue and then it went away. The feed of the very first round sounded like running a piece of metal over 60 coarse sandpaper. but after the first round...it went away.

Yes, they are referring to the Glock as DAO, and the M&P too for that matter.

What I think they really want to say is "striker fired" pistols. No thanks. Thats why I've been remiss in correcting them. If the order does come down to go "DAO", I'll be in technical compliance with the letter of the order, just not the spirit of it. ;)

I'd forgotten those DAO CS models. Local police supply had some awhile back. I may need one for off duty.....depending on what shakes loose. Probably be some months before anyone makes a decision.......IF they make a decision. Regards 18DAI.

Is this one??

my 3953 is a sweet shooter, though it is a DAO it doesnt have second strike capabilities.

and while it is close to being like a revolver, i still stroke my 681's trigger better.

also, i removed the magazine disconnector so i didnt have a sitting duck if a reload were needed.

im a big fan of the 3953 and recommend it to anybody looking for a simple, flat, easy to shoot, mid sized gun, of descent but controllable power.
