3953 Questions

Have a 3953, SN VJN9461, reserved at a local shop and have a few questions;

1. Any place to get OEM S&W stocks for this? Has Pachmyrs on it now.

2. Has Tritium Night Sights (unmarked) with front and rear green dots. Was this an original feature or option?

3. What Year was it made?

S&W still carries OEM stocks for the 3900s, as does Brownells.

Night sights are probably after market, though I think Smith did equip some on special order. There are several types of tritium sights still available for the 3900s. You can also get those at Brownells.

VJN**** should fall somewhere in '98-'99, if I am reading my SCSW correctly.

Enjoy your 3953. They are simple, accurate, and reliable as can be.

Thw nightsights still work, so they'll stay.

Shortranger: Thanks for the info, I'll look for the stock.

Mountaingun629: Only one he had. Also had a 4516 that I bought last week. I'm in northeast ohio. You might try the "Big Store" in Columbus, they get a lot of PD trade-ins...
