4576 = 4 1/4' barrel frame mounted decocker all steel

4516 = 3 3/4" barrel slide mounted safety/decocker all steel

4563(TSW) = 41/4" barrel slide mounted safety/decocker aluminum alloy frame.

4513 = 3 3/4" barrel slide mounted safety decocker aluminum alloy frame.

4586 = 4 1/4" barrel DAO all steel

4583(TSW) = 4 1/4" barrel DAO aluminum alloy frame.

457 = 3 3/4" barrel slide mounted safety/decocker aluminum alloy frame, value series.

CS45 = 3" barrel slide mounted safety/decocker aluminum alloy frame.

CQB = 4" barrel slide mounted decocker steel or aluminum alloy frame, perforance center.

To further complicate matters, the 4513 (TSW, BTW) came in two versions. The original version had a 6-round magazine and a partly chopped grip. The later version (is the same size as the 4516 and 457 and) has a 7-round magazine.

Hi Guys, brand new here, and am looking for info on a 4586. Have been able to briefly handle one, never dry fire or fire one, but our Police Dept is selling them to the Officers who carried them, and I have been offered one. Seems very heavy, and I know some Officers did not like them, but most had no major problems with them. What can anyone tell me about this? I own several S & W revolvers, but at the time no semi auto, although at one time did have a 39 and later a 59.
The pistol seems in great condition, but does have several bright rubb marks where holster retention device held it, more than likely could polish the slide and get rid of those. I just have doubts of how it would serve as a Home Defense piece, as I have no experience with a DAO semi auto, and especially one that weighs about the same as a cement block.
Comments from those with more knowledge than I appreciated, including a guess at curretn value.

Cat

No, it has a 4 1/4" barrel unless it is a PC CQB.

Smith, Cat has a unique piece that we are unable to ID. Grinder must be on VAC but we think his is a prototype CQB just marked on the frame 4566. there are no CQB markings.

its is a briley bushinged 4" gun.

the serial number prefix is PCZXXXX which I have seen on another prototype PC.

it is a PC labeled gun.

I think there was also a 4546, full size 5 inch with DAO operation and a 4526, full size 5 inch with frame mounted decocking lever.

Sorry, didn't mean to add confusion to this thread.

My 4566 does indeed have a four inch barrel - I just measured it to be sure. Four inch dead on.

But I think it's a odd bear, so don't let it throw ya.

Do a search on the 4586 and you'll see tons of folks singing their praises - including me. Reliable with a wide range of ammo, accurate and smooth handling, they make a fine HD gun as their weight is an asset in that role rather than a problem. Stainless OEM mags are readily available for $20. The only drawback is that they don't have a light mounting rail. If you're a revo guy, you'll love the 4586's trigger - smooth, with a short pull breaking at about 10 lbs. Get one!
