3rd Gen Ambi Slide Release?

3rd Gen Ambidextrous Slide Release.

Anybody ever see one?
I don't recall seeing one in the aftermarket back in the '90s.
I'm not sure I would even want one (I'm right handed), but I'm intrigued by the idea.
Seems like it would be simple enough to fabricate.
Any recollections?

You would have to cut a notch for the release and I think cutting the release notch under the ejection port doesn't leave much steel in that area and would weaken the slide, in my opinion.

On some TSW series the catch is reversible,
and some later magazines have the cutout for this. See post #3 in this thread, usually if anyone will know it will be Fastbolt

Hi, War Eagle!

I hope that wouldn't be necessary.
I was thinking it might be possible to extend the pivot shaft on the existing left side slide release approx 3/16" out the right side and hang a lever on it.
The left side notch would still do the work.
I'm not sure what would be the best way to attach the right side lever.
Possibly a milled flat with a dimple for a spring loaded ball.
I guess the lefties never missed it.

When I practice my weak/left hand drills - not as often as I should, I admit - I just use my left trigger finger to release the slide. I can do it without otherwise shifting my grip, unlike right hand manipulation.
I think ambidexterity with pistols is overrated for many shooters. I've never heard anyone complain about the vast majority of SIGs out there with the highly un-ambidextrous decocking lever.
Personally, I like the SIG system. I'm looking for a reasonably priced P6 to add to my stable of single stack slimmies.
