I have 2 40 cal. a 4014 and a 4053. Their sights have a different dovetail than my 45 cal 4566TSW and my 4536. The 40's appear to have a standard Novak dovetail, the 45's have a much smaller dovetail....250" front, .437" rear vs .300" and .500" for the 40's.
Where can I obtain a fiber-optic front sight for the smaller dovetail?
Do I have to modify a standard Novak? I have looked thru Midway and all they list is Factory style sights for other than std Novak. Help, please.

These are both the older single stack forties right?
If so, those guns should share the same cuts and sights as any 45xx except for the height of the front.
Unless they've been modified by someone.

If you want a fiber optic front for those, look under S&W 1911 E-Series at Dawson Precision.
This will fit the 74° x .250 x .090 deep front sight cut (the base is oversize and requires careful fitting)

You might try Fusion Firearms . They have quite the collection for our revolvers and semi auto's . I got a front and rear for my 4006CHP and my 4566TSW from them .
