I have a 3rd model .38 with a 3.25" bbl I inherited. I have not yet had it checked by a gun smith which I plan to do before I would attempt to shoot. Assuming it checks out OK, is it safe to use current available ammo such as the Remington Express Ammunition .38 S&W 146 grain lead round nose or .38S&W Winchester Super-X 145gr. LRN Ammo?

Thanks, in advance.

Welcome to the Forum. Yes, I would feel safe shooting it if the gun is tight and in good mechanical condition, as modern made .38S&W ammo. is loaded to low pressures safe in older guns. You might try Cowboy ammo. also. ed
