3rd time back to the factory.....

Poor guy after sending it back for the third time they should replace the rifle. a lemon is a lemon.

A "Lemon" is defined as having the SAME exact problem 3 times in a time period.

I'm going to imagine his extraction problems were related to probably bending the ejector when he cleaned it or something, the "fix" was likely just bending the ejector back into problem alignment, which then weakend it causing it to break.

The important thing is that S&W fixed it for free with no cost to even ship the rifle to them. Then refunded his rifle when they recieved it back for the 3 time of service, what more can you really ask for? They made it right.

The ejector is probably the 1 part on this rifle that is touchy and caution needs to be taken when cleaning the rifle. Soo many people are use to just jaming the cleaning rod down the barrel and not paying attention to the chamber end.

....and so ends the story of a horrible experience with Smith & Wesson, hwilson I wish you the best. This is by far the most solid evidence that this gun is junk. I hope the idiot engeneers and technicians display their prized creation on the wall of shame in their corporate office. To think I wasted over $500 bucks on this plastic underperforming piece of garbage still makes me sick. What was I thinking.

Really? I mean there are 100's if not 1000's of 15-22 owners out there that had next to no problems what so ever. You are ALWAYS going to hear far more about the few problem rifles then you will ever hear about the good rifles. The 15-22 is an great rifle, like many firearms the very first runs had some problems and S&W fixed them.

S&W has done everything possible to fix this rifle for him and upon a 3rd trip back they offer to replace the whole rifle or refund his money completely, what more can you really ask for? Seriously, that is far more then many company's in this world will do for you.

The 10/22, suppose to be "one of the best" 22 cal rifles out there, has become one of the biggest pieces of junk rifles one can buy in the last 5-10 years, Ruger has made it a joke by making it cheaper and cheaper and QC going down the tubes.

I think S&W did a great job on the 15-22, while keeping the price affordable, yet still keeping a standard GI trigger group so you can use most available trigger groups out there. I have one of the first generation 15-22's wich I had zero problems with. I did start having problems with the bolt hold open button not grabbing the bolt. I'm sure I could have bent the ejector and fixed it my self, but I though it would be a good time to send in the rifle and get it fully updated including the mags. Why not? It's free!

I emailed S&W, recieved a pre-paid label the next day, sent the rifle out and recieved it back fully fixed and updated with new mags in about a week. What more could one ask for?

As far as accuracy comments by others, the 15-22 is WAY more accurate then either of my 10/22's. That said 98% of accuracy is the shooter and the sights, 1% is the ammo and 1% is the firearm/barrel. I don't believe anything anyone says about accuracy, you may hold 1 rifle different then another and your accuracy shows on the rifle that fits you better, unless you have a perfect lab enviroment with a clamp to hold the rifle and take out all possible variances, there is no way what so ever anyone can make an accuracy claim that will hold up to anything.

I switched ammo. Mine is 100% reliable with cci minimag round nose. Accuracy was incredible. I originally had a bad box of federal ammunition and was messing up my mag loading. Was upset that I had to buy a special AR-15 front site adjustment tool at the range. Why doesn't Magpul just include one with their sights to begin with.

Glad you finally got your feed issues resolved.....this guns not such a piece of **** once you get it dialed in now is it :)

Extractor video or picture?

How about a close up picture with some measurements so others can get the extractor set just right. I've seen some rather poor videos and a few not so great pictures. Could you do that Stang?

Does anyone have a close up picture of the correct adjustments?

got the check today. again, can't say enough about the customer service i received from the people at S&W during this, but i gotta admit that confidence is low for getting another. probably get the ruger 10-22 target tactical. not an ar platform but a pretty cool gun and i'm pretty sure it'll be a shooter. Thanks for your help S&W, i have a number of your products in my safe now and i'm sure i'll be getting more in the future.

sorry to hear that you lost some confidence in the S&W15-22, but check out the H&K 416-.22, it looks pretty cool i seen one at my LGS.
