Just wondering what everyone would pay for a minty in the box with papers and unopened tools 4" blued 19-3 with target stocks. Easily 98-99% revolver. Asking price is $1000 - they won't budge on the price. I have several 19s already so interested for collectability. It would go in the safe with my other minty in-the-box Smiths. Sorry but couldn't get any pictures. Serial number started with 4K so should be in the range of 72-74ish. If it had been a 1969 (birthyear) I would be posting pictures now instead of asking your thoughts!!

Regards,

Tony

Just paid $900 for a very nice 19-3 4" with 3Ts...no box, tools or papers.

I'd say the price is about right for the current market.

2 1/2 years ago, I paid 900 for a 19-4, Dead mint NIB 3T, box and all. Did I overpay? Perhaps, but they are not making them any more. I see some selling 12-1300. Actually wasn't there just a thread where one sold over 3K? That is alcohol, testosterone and mine is bigger than yours bidding. Bottom line , buy it

Seems a fair price today for a minty 19-3 with box/papers.

Seems crazy that I bought a high-grade shooter of the same vintage for $499 15 months ago...

In Today's market of China Virus Crisis Inflated prices I am not a buyer at all

I am very happy with what I own and I can wait until the market stabilizes and prices level back off.

The exception is for something that is super rare showing up, then it is expensive because of it's rareness. The China Virus Crisis makes little change in that market.

That's about right. I paid not much less than that two years ago for a similar gun! I'd jump on it.

I'm a huge Combat Magnum fan,
A 60's Era 19-3 is not the same gun as a 70's Era 19-3 IMO.
If it was a 60's gun I'd be tempted,
Mid 70s Era not as much.

Seems good in todays market considering I have been seeing standard models without boxes or tools in 70% etc for $700-1000

OP, I've got an unfired 19-3 I paid $900 for about one-and-a-half years ago. if that info helps you.

I don't have a 19-3 but would like one. This one seems to me to be a fair, current market price for a LNIB 19-3 with all the goodies. I would buy it.

I've over-paid for guns I really wanted. I've stumbled into unbelievable good deals. To me it seems it all works out in the end. Buy it if you like it. If it is only an investment and there is no love, my rule is to pass.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat.....in fact if you decide to pass please let me know. I'm looking for one. They are not to be found around here. It's the internet or nothing. Good luck on your decision.

A M19-4 4 inch with Rosewood grips, box but no tools sold this week on GB for $1525 plus tax and shipping. I wish I could find one for $1000 or less as some here have. You pay to soon but not to much.

It was a 19-3 and I am thinking it is a special order finish "Factory bright blue" as in the pre 27 lighter brighter finish. We shall see when it arrives.

If it's not a special order finish can you send it back? Is there a three day inspection period for an auction?

The older P&R Model 19's in excellent condition were selling for close to $1000 here in California several years ago. If it is as nice as described and includes the original box, papers and tools $1000 is a good buy in today's market.

No inspection period on auctions, you buy it its yours. Never seen a 19 with the bright finish. Would have to get a factory letter to see how it left and would be interesting to know if it left with those grips.
I look at it like this....I quit smoking cigarettes 4 years ago so if I go a little wild on bidding at least I have something to show for it vs. all the $$ I spent on smokes and nothing to show.

I thought the grips might have been special order. I hope it works out for you. I'm learning here please let us know if indeed it was special order. Your right about the smokes. A friend quit and bought a 1970's Ford F150 4X4. Regardless that is a very nice M19. Congrats on the acquisition.

Three years ago, I paid $1,000 for a 19-4 4" nickel without box or papers but in pristine condition. $750 two years ago for a 19-3 2.5". This year, a 66 no-dash advertised as 98-99% but not living up to that grade $1000, and a 66-1 that is nearly pristine (a great deal IMO) for $850. Oh, and $725 a few years back for a new Model 19 Classic.

OP, if you don't jump on that revolver, you will likely regret it. That gun would have gotten that price or more pre-COVID, and likely will get more than that if the market ever gets sane again.

These days, $1000 for a blued, 98%+ condition Model 19-3 with correct box, papers, and tools is a reasonable price.

Model 19-3 TR

I'm more of an N-frame guy, so I only have a couple of Model 19s. In 2018 I paid $850 for a Model 19-3 Texas Ranger Commemorative with the matching bowie knife, wooden case, and goodies. It's a shooter and one of my favorites with the smooth target stocks, trigger guard cutout, and beautiful workmanship. I can easily see a minty 19-3 bringing a $1000 or more these days.

I saw a Texas Ranger commemorative with the knife recently and it was a LOT more than $850
