These are ported but no CORE. I called Smith about the picture and I was told the picture is not accurate as the slide reflects CORE plate. These are only ported. Just and FYI.

Being that there is no mounting option for red dot. I'd say the iron sites in this picture are also misleading.

Not according to the S&W rep I spoke with at the Shot Show. They do indeed have the recess and plate for the optic mount. They come with tall sights or not. It just depends on what you want.

I just want to have the option of both slides without putting another gun on my record.

What do hope to gain by going to a new slide and barrel that is 3/4 of an inch shorter?

• Sight radius will be slightly worse.
• Velocity will be slightly less
• the shorter gun won't conceal noticeably differently (or better), as the longer parts don't show up when in a holster.

Sorry, I missed this earlier. He did not give me those numbers and I didn't ask. We did discuss the configurations though and I remember him specifically saying one was available with the optic mount.

He is supposed to contact me later for some follow up stuff. He lives in CA and only a few hours from me. I'm not holding my breath, but I hope he does follow up. I would love to spend some range time with these new guns.

With the shooting team I am on they have a few categories of competition they run. This will allow me to shoot in the combat and service weapon categories.
