.40 S&W 's

Thanks to the unpopularity of the caliber here, I bought a Sig P239 .40 S&W last Friday for $200.00. No box or papers, one magazine, busted stocks, standard sights, about 70% finish left on the slide. Local shops didn't want it.

Dang, that was a no-brainer! Now you've got to pick up a .357sig barrel for it. The 239 really comes into it's own when you shoot .357 out of it.

I had no need for a third P239 but it was a reasonable price considering stocks and a spare mag would run $80.00+ and the slide needed refinishing. I put a spare set of Hogue wrap-a-round stocks on that gun. I gave $350.00 & $375.00 for these two in 2016; converted the TT to .357 Sig for $100.00.

Its all marketing hype...Notice now how the 6.5 rifles seem to be all the rage? In reality they won't do anything a good rifle in another caliber won't do. Same with the 40. In 1989 I bought a 4006 and had to make my cases out of shortened 10mm brass because the 40 was so new and only Win. ammo was avail. and it was scarce. Later I added a 229 in 40. and today I added a Shield in 40. Nothing wrong with the 40 at all. With the same bullet technology it will ALWAYS out perform the weaker 9mm. There are a lot of "followers" out there and not enough leaders.......Form your own opinions and be happy.......Never follow the crowd.
