.40 speer 165gr gdhp

Hello. I'm wanting to use the 165gr speer gdhp for reloading.read some consistency issues with weight and diameter.Looking to purchase a good bullet for self defense.Have reloaded using 155gr Hornady xtp using 6 grains universal, fed cases, win sm pistol primers with good results.My pistol is a 4 inch barrel sw m&p 2.0 compact.Anyone experienced issues with the speer gdhp bullet?

I had some weirdness when trying to seat some Gold Dots for the first time. Couldn't get consistent OAL after seating the bullets.
I contacted RCBS, and was told that due to the shape of the Gold Dot, I would need a custom seating stem.
I sent them a couple loose bullets and $15, they sent the new custom stem, and all was well.
Just be aware, if you have trouble seating to a consistent length with Gold Dot's, you might need to get a stem made to fit the bullet better.
