Hello all -got a 4006 mag with a 'grip filler' to allow use in 4013 pistols.
upon taking it off it I have a metal base plate with hole for the metal base(indie the mag) to
go into under spring power.
it is shorter than the plastic base usually seen on 4006 mags.
I am not a 4006 owner so i can't check...
Will they work as is?
should i be looking for plastic base plates to replace the metal one?
thx

Have Any 59 series mags (and pistol(s) that you could try that base plate in?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Until the 3rd gen, S&W's base plates were like that.

Wondering why you got the 4006 magazine with a Precision Gun Specialties +2 adapter and took it off. Just being curious?

Anyway it will work just fine. Actually it's not a bad feel w/o the little bit of extra finger rest of the factory baseplate. I suppose it's somewhat more compact.

PM or email me if you want a factory baseplate, I've got a few that are not needed. I'll get one to you.

Jim

I had picked two of those too and switched them out with a couple 5906 magazine baseplates to fit my 669. The 4026 was happy to get two more mags so it worked out nicely.
Maybe put the 2 pieces in our classified section to see if someone will trade their baseplate with you.
