So I picked up a 4013 a few weeks ago for an eventual 10mm conversion. It appears to be in great shape, aside from some scuffs and dings on the grips. I put one box of 180 FMJ American Eagle thru it with no issues.

I took it to the range again yesterday and ran a box of 180 FMJ Fiocci thru it. 1-2 rounds from each mag would not eject properly. I've never had issues with limp wristing in the past, so I feel fairly confident that's not the problem. All 3 mags I used were factory, and the problem showed up in all of them.

Any idea where to start looking for problems? Could it just be this particular ammo? I would like to have this gun running 100% before I do the conversion.

Thanks!

Here's a pic from yesterday. Every failure was just like this, no traditional stovepiping:

Could be ammo. If it continues to malfunction with various brands of ammunition, try replacing/changing the magazine springs and the recoil spring first, using OEM springs. This change may solve the problem without further intervention.

Also check the integrity of the ejector/mag depressor lever. It's the one on the left side of the hammer as you look at the frame from the back. Check that it moves up and down freely, and look at the tip with a magnifier to verfy it's not broken or damaged.
While you have the magnifier handy, take a look at the extractor to check the integrity of the hook.....and that the extractor moves freely.

Make sure the slide and frame rails are properly lubricated. This will both mitigate damage, and help with reliability.

I second the recoil spring first!

Before you order the spring, pull the slide off to see if you have the dual nested spring set up or single spring set up.

Rev.1 had the single spring (.290" guide rod) & the later rev.4 had the dual/nested spring (.237" guide rod).
