4013 Slide Stop

The “nose” of the slide stop on my 4013 does not contact the magazine follower/spring and as such the slide will not lock open. Any suggestions?

Perhaps the area of the follower that contacts the slide stop is worn or broken.

It's not suppose to touch the spring at all, just the follower at the lower edge of the cutout below the spring. Is the slide not locking open on an empty magazine? Have you stripped the mags and cleaned them? Inspect the followers for wear/damage. The pic viewed from above is not of great value in sorting this out. Is the little spring loaded plunger on your slide stop (the thing that bears against the sideplate) moving freely?

Thanks for the info Bill. Turns out it was just a weak magazine spring. I took the mag apart, stretched the spring, put it back together and the slide will now lock back. I have ordered some new springs. Apparently, the previous owner kept the mag loaded over a long period of time.

Sometimes a second opinion reminds us what we should be looking at.
Took down my ceiling fan to paint it, put it all back together again, mounted it to the ceiling wired it up, the fan works okay by the switch on the wall. I flicked thr other switch the light wouldn't work by the switch . Just to be sure I check some references for correct wiring, and it was wired correctly. Guess what?
I forgot to pull the chain on the light.
DUH !!
