Hi all!

New to this site but since I just put a very nice condition 4013tsw on layaway I decided to join in on the S&W fun.

Question…after putting this on layaway I've also run across a good condition 40CS and wanted to know if it would be worth having both? I was planning on using the 4013tsw as my carry gun but the 40CS might be a better option. Still going to get the 4013 but didn't want to pass on another good gun.

Anyone out there own both and if so which do you carry?

Also…CS40's in 95%, what should the going rate be? Doesn't appear to be shot much and comes with 2 mags.

Thanks,

Josh

4013 or cs40

I own a 4046 and a CS40. The cs40 is 24oz and 4046 is almost 3lbs. Cs40 is the perfect carry gun.

I've got 4006, 4006TSW and CS40 pistols and the CS40 goes out and about more than the others not only because it is lighter, but because it is also much easier to find a holster for the non-rail gun.

Non-rail

I like the 4013tsw I have on payment right now because it doesn't have the rail...it is an early year for the model.

But the 40CS is calling my name!

Thanks,

Josh

I had both a 3913 and a CS9. The difference in length and height was less than 1/2" each way, but there was a noticable difference for me in the balance of them when holding and shooting them, with the preference going to the 3913. As far as carrying IWB, the difference was barely perceived. I ended up selling off the CS9. The 3913, again - for me - does everything the CS9 does a little better and the barely perceived carry advantage of the CS9 was not enough to make it make sense to carry it instead of the 3913.

I have a 4014 which I absolutely love. While it's just slightly heavy sometimes for summer carry, I really don't like many plastic guns or smaller guns.

I just saw a nice, LNIB CS45 at a local gun store near one of the skeet ranges I go to. They want $600, original box and papers and 2 mags included. I'd like to pay $500 so may make them an offer. $600 seems to be the going rate for an un-fired, NIB CS gun. $400-$550 for a LNIB gun.

If I buy the CS45, I plan on keeping the 4014. My all time favorite pistol.

I would like to eventually get one lightweight, "summer clothes", polymer framed, CCW pistol. The only ones that I currently like would maybe be the Walther PPS. I just wish the PPS had DA/SA and a hammer. I wish FN would make a compact, single stack version of their FNP. I really like the hammer fired, DA/SA guns better than the strikers.

But one of these guns would be nice on a boat, or anytime you don't want to risk losing or ruining a 3rd gen, or just want a little lighter carry piece.
