I recently purchased quite a few cast bullets at a show for a good price and I want to use them for plinking, but I need some reliable info. They are 220 grain Hard Cast and I want to use up the rest of my IMR 4227 (about 1 to 1.5 lb's or so).

I will be using my 6" M657 to plink with. I have gone through all of my reloading books and I can't find any data for this combination. I have also searched the web and read from a lot of reloading sites to no avail.

(for the most part I use 2400 in all my Magnum loads as I like it the best)

When I ran out of my 210 & 215 Cast bullets, I probably should have bought more of them instead of being tight and buying and odd bullet. :/

Have any of you fellow re-loaders used this combination or do any of you have the requested data I speak of? I would greatly appreciate any info on this matter.

It worked when he first posted it.
The data was from Lyman showing their 220 gr. SWC, mold no. 410459.
Charges for I4227 should have been 17.3 start to 21.5 max. with a OAL of 1.7" That's from Lyman #46 and thier Cast Bullet Handbook third edition.

This is the classic "Keith" bullet for the 41 Mag and is the only bullet I use in mine. For 25+ years it is all the bullet I've needed for this caliber.

The 1100 fps load listed above is in my experience 100 yards accurate.

Does that load book quoted show a listing for a 250grn wnfpgc or similar using 2400? Trying to find a 2400 load for this bullet from cast performance.

The issue I have shows the heaviest bullet load data with 2400 is for Lymans 240gr bullet is start at 14.0 grs at 915 fps 18,200 CUP to a maximum of 18.5 grs at 1,214 fps at 36,100 CUP.

You can find data for 250gr on Hodgdon's website using their powders.
