Anyone care to share serial numbers of earlier 41s that are "unique" in that they have all the same digits, end in three or more zeros, have repeating digits, or end with 41 etc? I am unaware of any way to find what serial numbers were actually used for 41s. I know that 49000 exists, as does 113341, and although it is a little later, A140000 is out there (and it was not "made" for the president of S&W).

I don't have a "unique" number on a 41, but I do own M52 #50552 which is probably the 1st month of production seeing that the serial numbers for the 52 started at 50,000 and were also shared with the other automatics in production.

I once owned a Class A engraved Model 41 with Ser. No. 3344. The gun was purchased from H. H. Harris the S&W distributor in Chicago during the early 1960's.
How about it -- 'unique' Model 41 numbers wanted, including duplications, repeating (while not a 41, such as the Colt PP I have with #117711) earliest # owned (or seen if we can trust you) hey, is #1401 in S&W's possession (remember that they sold FYA0001 on GB for $6.625K and FYA0002 for $3.275K and, in case you are interested, FYA0003 is on GB by a dealer so S&W is out of the auction business).

I have an old mod. 41 that I have been shooting bullseye with for about 30 years or so. It came with a 5.5 heavy barrel and I also have the 7.5 barrel with a 30mm adco red dot mounted. The trigger was done over by the factory for me at 2.5 lbs. Ser # 4986

That low a number (1957) would have had the 7 3/8" barrel as original -- the 5.5" being available in 1963.I see that #3723 was acquired by a Forum member today. I have seen only a couple with #s in the early four digits and if in excellent condition the blue is beautiful.

Thanks JP for the info on my .41. My dad bought it for me used from a friend of his who was into bullseye,and he gave it to me for my 18th birthday. It came with that 5.5 bull and two mags. The barrel has that lazy & I read about on this web-site. I purchased the 7" much later on.It shoots like a dream and still looks good considering the amount of use its had. Thanks again . PS I'm 54

Just so happens I have 3707 not nearly as pretty as 3723 which I just picked up today. It's really beautiful, less than 50 rounds fired.
My other 2 4 digit 41s are in the 9000 range.

9873 here. Bought it new way back for the pricey sum of $110 when High Standards were selling new for $87. Had to splurge but never looked back. Now three barrels and still my favorite.
