Will a 439 top end fit & function on a 39-2 frame?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

I tried it, didnt work, Fits O.k. but there is some type of firing pin block, not being de-activated, I have held the 39 slide and the 439 slide, side by side, and I am just not seeing the difference....

The difference is the firing pin lock. It is the plunger that is on the right hand side when the slide is mounted. If you remove the rear sight and remove the firing pin lock plunger and spring and put the rear sight back on it will function fine. I have a nickeled 439 slide with the adjustable sight on one of my 39-2 frames.

PS I have been thinking of machining that 39-2 frame so that I can put the extra leaver in so the the firing pin lock will work. If I do it I'll let you all know how it works and how long it takes.

The 39-2 does not have the mechanism to deactivate the firing pin safety. So, no.
