I have posted photos of the right side of this 44 Magnum that was engraved in October 1956 by Alvin White showing the inlay of the "Tiger in the Grass". However, the left side is just as interesting with the Inidian with the turban and exquisite detail Mr. White went to in creating this inlay.

Yeeeeow! Talk about detailed and beautiful engraving! That has to be the prettiest I've seen! And those stocks! Amazing! Are those ivory diamonds? Thanks for sharing Bill!

Misty...The diamonds are ivory and were standard on many pairs of stocks carved by Mr. White. Mr. White considered this 44 Magnum to be the most elaborate he ever did for S&W.

I'm always amazed at how man adorns simple utilitarian objects to turn them into something atypical and unique. That is a fascinating specimen and an absolute piece of art.

I don't know how much longer I am going to be able to keep telling myself that I don't much care for engraved guns if you keep posting specimens like this. The tiger side was special enough, but the flip side deserves to go to the top of the charts on its own merits.

Just amazing. Thanks for showing.
