44 Magnum engraved by Alvin White in early 1957. Stocks by Mr. White recently obtained at the S&WCA symposium in June. Mr. White was a master at working in metal, wood, ivory, jade and other materials. Click on the photo for a better look. Collecting stocks carved and inlaid with ivory by Alvin White is quite a challenge, but over the years I have managed to acquire eight pairs. Wood types range from figured walnut, to Goncalo alves, to rosewood and birds eye maple.
44 Magnum prototype, S121836, with stocks by Keith Brown also obtained at the S&WCA symposium in June. Based on photographs of one other prototype, these stocks are very close to what would have been on the revolver in January 1955. Click on the photo for a better look.
