Just bought the Performance Center version of the 442. LGS had to order it, so expecting it beginning of next week. I'm positive that I've seen it on S&W website, however, it isn't there anymore. maybe I'm mistaken and i looked at something else. Anybody know if this model was discontinued, or it was a distributor only run and wouldn't appear on the website. They do have listed a 442 Performance Center Pro Series with a black cylinder. the one i ordered has the bare stainless cylinder. Also, i thought that Pro series was different than PC. I have a Pro Series 686 that has the nicest trigger that I've ever used, up to this point. I'd be shocked if the PC trigger is better. Thanks in advance

I've never seen a 442 with a bright stainless cylinder. Did you order the PC 642?
If you write down the SKU that the dealer uses to order it, you'll know what you're getting.

it is mfg #11516 on the invoice. i don't see that on a search of Smiths page. it definitely exists on google, searching s&w 442 performance center, as described with a stainless cylinder. i see in google images that it is a chattanooga shooting supply exclusive. i imagine they are a distributor similar to Talo. this would explain why S&W omits it on their site.

as usual, i shoot first, ask questions later. searching this site (after posting) has led me to plenty of info. i have enough attention span to scan the first page. sorry fellas, for asking you all to do my homework.

Last week a fellow RSO pulled out a 642 with stainless barrel and cylinder. Cut for moon clips and no other markings on the gun. Heavy but very smooth trigger. He bought it used so I can't give you any more info but it was a really slick gun.
