44he 3rd model assistance.

I've recently come across a 3rd model 44. As you can see it's the scare 6.5in barrel sn#29342. I'm not generally a N frame guy but I recognize it for what it is. Would $2100 be good bad or ugly for this example? Thanks in advance.

That looks like a very nice gun which I would be happy to own. I do think it is rather expensive, though. I bought two 3rds in 2021: the bottom one one with earlier grips for $796 and the scratched-up one for $826.

I would guess the OP's gun to be worth just below or at the asking price.

What caused the blue loss on the front sight? Has it been altered?
Still, it is worth 2100.
Is it a round top or flat top? A round top will be scarcer than a flat top.

It is a round top frame and the front sight is unmoved I can't explain the bluing loss.

I have a 4 inch and a 5 inch, I would be sorely tempted by that 6.5. It's a pretty early one, 1927 probably. One of mine is 28757 which shipped in April, 1927. Good luck, let us know what the letter says when you get one.

I would almost be tempted and I'm really not a 3rd model fan. I understand their significance in a collection which from what I see would make that piece fit well into just about any collection. I'm more of a 2nd model nut and just skip fast forward to the 4th model if I was looking for a 44 Special with an ejector shroud. Congratulations...

I agree on the date - my #29179 shipped 4/16/27 to Wolf & Klar.
