Need some 45rim bullseye loads to try. Just got a 25-2 and a
bunch of 45auto rim brass. Want to use a cast bullet, just for
paper punching. Need advice on bullets & charges, will be
appreciated.

The brass is internally the same as regular 45 ACP brass. So any ACP load will do. I use my WW 231 load for my 1911's with full moon clips in my 1917 & my 625 (series of 1989).

In my younger days I benched a lot trying to get the best combo with that gun. 4.5 of Bullseye or 231 with a 200 h&g came out on top. 700x was good also. Now there are newer powers. I had 3 25-2s at one time. The ugliest one shot the best.

230- gr ball ammo , 5.0 grs of bullseye is and has been my load for years.
Many will tell you the 200 gr swc is the perfect target bullet . they might be right , I have never tried it . the 230gr ball ammo worked for me so I just stayed with it. I have read that 4.7 grs of red dot was the perfect powder with the 200 gr swc . I would think that 4.5 grs of bullseye would be about the same equivalent . Good luck

200 grain cast SWC over Winchester's minimum load of their Winchester Super Target (WST). Super Field aint too shabby either.

One of the national match target loads for 45 acp/auto rim is a
200gr semi wad cutter bullet over 3.8gr of bullseye.
Produces an accurate light lite load good to the 50 yard line.

Any good match handload for .45 ACP will work, just dump the contents into the Auto Rim brass instead. I bought an RCBS roll crimp die for when my chosen bullet wants/needs more than an ACP-style taper crimp.

1955 Targets/Model 25's all seem to work with their own favorite bullets. I have worked hard with 6 of them over the years and each liked what it liked best, from 185 or 230 grain jacketed bullets to hard cast 200 grain SWC or swaged 200 grain SWC. They all liked faster powders from Bullseye and 231/HP38 to Unique for the 230 grainers.

Best commercial lead bullet I found was the Speer swaged 200 grain SWC. Best home cast bullet was Layman's 452460 sized to .451."

Every single shooter I know who shoots the 45AR tells me their favorite 45 ACP load is their best 45AR load too.

For target work a LSWC bullet is best for reading the targets. A 200gr LSWC bullet over 5.5gr W231 is hard to beat. Most of those bullets will have a crimp groove which is perfect for revolver ammo and a roll crimp.

In mine I load Bayou 200 SWC over either 3.8 grains bullseye or 4.1 grains of N310. Many match wins with both.

For accuracy, I would agree with those who have posted the classic 200gr LSWC over 3.8 gr of bullseye recipe. You could spend allot of time and money trying to best that but I can say it would not be easy.
That said, if you have the powder already, W231 and Clays have also treated me well with light 200 gr loads. Personally, I like Missouri Bullets SWC and (lately their coated version.)

I won a first place trophy with a 200 grain cast lead SWC ( Lyman 452460) and 5.2 grains of Unique.
The same bullet over 4.0 grains of Bullseye has proven it's accuracy also.
