Can anyone with a copy of the Pearce article scan and email me a copy of it?
Um, that violates copyright laws friend! So, in essences, on the world wide web, you just asked someone to commit a crime! Wow!
If you want Pearce's articles, and they were in Handloader Magazine, you can go to the Wolfe Publishing website, do a search and get the article/issue for a small fee.
Personally, I subscribe to the three magazines online as well as LoadData.com. That way, I get all of the loads he develops as well.
Now, as far as leading in the 45AR: I have a M625JM and I have yet to have any leading problem with it. My bullets are homemade though. I would never shoot swaged bullets as they are too soft for good performance, at least, in my opinion.
I have several loads, all of which are one holers @ 20 yards. My H&G #502, 240gr LSWC comes out of that 4" tube at 1100fps, no leading. I have a Saeco #296(?) 220gr RN that exits at 850fps or less, no leading. I cast and shoot the venerable H&G #68, 200gr LSWC from it as well and all are sized to .452", cast from straight wheel weights and lubes with White Label Lube's Carnuba Red or BAC, no leading, period.
There was a forum member here that I sent some bullets to that had some leading issues in his M625JM. I gave him some of the H&G #502 and he experienced what I do, great accuracy and no leading.
It could be that you have copper fowling in your barrel caused by shooting jacketed bullets. Use Gunscrubber on it and get it out. Then try to shoot lead again.
