45 cal. Revolver or 1911?

As the owner of a 1911 and a 45 Colt revolver with 8" barrel, I recommend a 45 ACP revolver with 5" barrel, the one I wish I had. You can get the 1911 when you decide to compete with it. Meantime the revolver will serve you well. I'd feel pretty confident pocking up that N-frame revolver in the middle of the night. I'm a revolver guy who bought the 1911 when he was invited to shoot for a team in a 1911 match. Go figure; they assumed that because I shot a revolver well with a dot sight, I could shoot a 1911 with open sights..

JoJo's GunWorks in Southington CT. $350 for a re blue.

They are one of the best 1911 and AR-15 shops in the country, seriously.

They do Excellent work, and both owners, John and Jody are great guys. They are well known throughout CT. Every gun store I go to in CT sends work to them, and customers to them.

Thanks, Tom! ;)

I will never let go of my Wilson CQB .45 1911 or S&W Model 60 .38 Chiefs Special. Best two guns (and triggers) I've ever owned.
