The Triple Lock I found already reamed, still fires 455 and I also have a second model 455 still original

Before anyone gets all upset. The 2 629-1 were all original when I got them and I have 2 more still in original form.
The HP came with a coated cylinder, the 1917 didn't even have a barrel, the Brazilian was your typical Brazilian. The 1955 was a bit of a finish worn shooter I first modified way before I had a clue it was anywhere near special.

A lot of nice work in those revolvers! A couple of them make me cringe a little but at least they are still 45 caliber.

I believe everyone knows about my ACP revolvers so no need to post that old photo again.

But, here is one I don’t post about very often, the only S&W revolver I have that is chambered in 45 long Colt, a Model 25-5.

A genuine deer slayer when I used to use it. Now, it sits while I shoot the ACP revolvers.

The 25-5 had a big throat (.456) cylinder and a lot of blue loss on muzzle before I went to work on it. I did the 1955 way before I ever heard of a collectable S&W. I do kind of regret that one. I wish the TL had not been converted when I found it, but only paid $700 for it. The 1917 I think i paid $300 for with a loose barrel that was more of a piece of pipe. I paid $500 apiece for the 629-1 1 had an 8 3/8 barrel I sold the other had a 6" barrel that had been tapped for a scope. I have 2 629-1 I left as 44s that I paid $500 each, both with 6" barrels and replace 1 with a 4" .The Brazilian was a $350 gun. I paid like $300 or 350 for the 55 screw HP with a coated cylinder, hammer and trigger.

I much prefer 45 colts over 44 mags.

Great looking guns.
I was never that much in to the 45Colt for some reason until recently.
Then I did up a project on an OM Blackhawk to 45Colt and I find I like it a lot.

I have a 38-44HD, someone elses failed project that was intended to become a 44spcl. But they rechambered the cylinder with something or by some method that has left it nothing but chatter marks.
I'm thinking it's a good candidate for the 45Colt now to save it.
I have a few orphaned 45 bbls. One of the bunch will make a good replacement.

I'd never cut up a good revolver. Too many wrecks already around that need saving either by custom work or restoration.

I've got two in 45 Colt (both customs).

A 455 2nd Model I had converted to become a shrouded 45 Colt using a recessed 357 cylinder reamed out for the 45's.

A 28-2 that was converted with a 1950 barrel and non-recessed cylinder when I found it. I believe the Cokes came with it at the time. Shoots great.

I love the 45 Long Colt cartridge and have many firearms for it, some are Smith & Wessons and others are not.

My first Smith & Wesson Model 25s were this 4" and then the 6" the 2 3/8" in the photo is a 45ACP Behlert

Then I added the awesome 5" Model 25, SKU 100924 that was produced starting in 1989

25-7s.jpg

In 1993 the Stocking Dealer Special for that year was a 5" 625 classic Hunter chambered in 45 Long Colt. Only 1550 were produced. This is one of my favorites

In the mid to late 90s the Performance Center went wild with big heavy slab sided barrels. Here are two Model 625s in 45 Long Colt. Obviously neither of these are wearing the Factory supplied grips, I switched then out for some Hogue wood

During the early 2000s, Lew Horton had commissioned the Heritage Series. The Model 25 was offered in a Color Case Hardened frame and I just fell in love with them. Old world style and charm with modern manufacturing and metallurgy

They were also offered in blue

In the mid 2000s Smith & Wesson was building Mountain Guns in all sorts of calibers. Well I had to own a pair in 45 Long Colt. I did change the Factory supplied grips for some older Factory Combats

25-625mg.jpg

In 2006 Smith & Wesson decided to build Model 625s with a Scandium alloy frame and a 2" barrel. These Pug nosed revolvers shed a lot of weight with that frame. While they were offered in both 45 ACP and 45 Long Colt, I only was interested in the latter chambering

I think that wraps up the Smith & Wessons. I have other brands and I do not have them all photographed, but I will post some of the pictures without going into the detail of each one

Have I mentioned that I Love the 45 Long Colt ?

My usual carry guns are a set of 2 3/4" 325s in 45 acp. I seriously thought of making one into a 45 colt, but with the heavier bullets the 3 1/2" steel gun will be my carry 45 colt.

I keep thinking about putting a heavy slab side 6" barrel and a Bo mar sight on a Brazilian.

My first centerfire revolver was a 4 5/8" Old Model Ruger chambered in .45 Colt. Alas, it is long gone. :( The second .45 Colt was a 6 1/2" MK II .455 that had had the chambers reamed.

The third was a 4" blue M25-5. Another 4 5/8" Ruger Blackhawk was acquired. A few Colt New Service revolvers have also graced my collection, as well as a M625 Mountain Gun.

My favorite caliber in a S&W. I need to get a M25-5 as it's the one that made me realize all other calibers were making holes in the paper that were simply too small.

Got these two right now. Bought the Model 1955 brand new in the early 1980's with interchangeable cylinders. It was fine in 45 ACP but when I tried the 45 Colt cylinder it has never been swapped back the other way.

Then recently I saw this M25-3 on Gunbroker with its original box so that had to come my way. The sights were way out of adjustment but once adjusted it is quite accurate.
