1917 S&W Snubby

I recently purchase a beautiful condition S&W 1917 with a short barrel. The barrel appears to be cut and fitted with a ramp sight, quite professionally. I was told this was done by the U.S. Armory at the request of Officers. I have no idea if this is fact or fiction. Does this barrel shortening (3 1/2") detract from the value of a 1917? The pistol shows very, very little use. Thank you for your help

Great additions. Keep them coming especially the classics.

Added 325 and 3" M1917 without front sight. Both shoot great

Silver solder on project 1917 not working out. May go 3" bull barrel

Looking for a certain S&W

Good morning. Anywhere can I find a Model 25 or a 625 in 45 Long colt? Thank you for your consideration.

Here's an old 5.5 inch .45colt Vaquero that I had Andy Horvath snub years ago. Had him add the knurled piece ala the Colt Lightning and remove the ejector boss on the frame and the stupid Ruger warning **** on the bbl. Jim Downing [I think that's right] did the engraving. The brass key is the ejector. Shoots dead on.
