.450 SMC - 10mm power out of a .45 ACP pistol with no modifications necessary?!

We have a stainless Ruger Officer,
in 45ACP. It has triple recoil springs, and is rated for +P ammo.
Anyone try one with Super or SMC?
I have 100 Starline 45 Super brass cases on hand.
Sadly, no Power Pistol.
Picture has the +P ammo that might be Remington.

You can change 2 things aside from the maker, the caliber or the ammo. Try the ammo first. G9 Defense makes some interesting stuff. So does Underwood.

Always interesting when people re-invent the wheel when it comes to calibers. KISS...........and I am not talking the band

I bought virgin 450 SMC brass from Double Tap and use that small primer stout brass for keeping loads for my PCCs easy to tell apart from my 45 pistol loadings. It helps that the PCCs have a fully supported chamber and can be loaded to higher levels (+P) than pistol, so far has worked great for me. Could not find a source of once-fired 450 SMC brass-anybody have a source?

I remember reading about something simular in the early 90's. Also remember the 400 corbon from around the same time frame. Looked neat but dident really grab me as a i need one.

Hodgdons has 45 Super load data... I've used some START loads in 45 Super brass with quite a few different projectiles in my Ruger American without any problems. Cheers!

P.S. In Starline 45 acp, 45 acp+P & 45 Super brass there is an increasing degree of construction besides different headstamps. 45 SMC uses small rifle primers and is even heavier.
