4506-1 Question

Very good shooting. The main difference between the 4506 and the 4506-1 is the -1 has the beefier 10mm Model 1006 slide.
I have seen that before - pistol says -1 but box label omits the dash. Have also seen TSW pistols with no TSW on box label.

My pistol appears to be the same configuration as English's, except mine has the Laser engraving instead of roll marks.
So why is mine not a -1? Or is my gun a dash-one, just not marked a dash one?

Yep very common.
Not only was the slide a bit "beefier" the 4506-1's had the thicker frame. The step frame was replaced with the full frame and rounder trigger guard.
Search 4506 vs 4506-1 and look at all the contributions by 18DAI. He pretty much explained everything. Dang he's missed.

looks like your pistol was shipped in 2003, 8 years after mine. that probably explains the laser etching as opposed to roll stamp.IMHO

Speaking of missing 18DAI, does anyone remember the conversation(s) revolving around the -3 guns being more accurate?
I couldn't help but notice the 03 on the box of the OP...

I have no clue wether my -3 gun is any more accurate than any others, because my 645 is no slouch. These S&W 45 shoot some loads better than others. I can shoot here at home, so I try different loads.
What is the factory recoil spring weight in the 5 inch guns?
Are the black magazine followers better than the metal ones?
