I had one in the late '80's and should have never parted with it. I found one locally that I'm probably going to pick up in the next week or so. Anyone have any suggestions of what to look for (aside from the obvious) and what spare parts to keep on hand? I know I'll need to pick up some spare mags. Anyone have good luck with Pro Mags? The ones I've had any experience with (1911 and P228) have not been the greatest.

Had a 4505 that I traded for "something" ....... think it might have gone towards the PC 5906 I still have.

The full size .45 guns were IMHO just "too big" for anything but a "Police duty gun" ......... the 4516s were "too heavy" for EDC concealed...... the 4566 I still have is "just right"!

I had a 4516 not dash with a flush-fit mag made by Novack....... but as I said too heavy ....... got traded for a Sig 245 w/ alloy frame, "Big Dot" front night sight and Hogue wood grips

Friends don't let "real" friends buy Promags. You only give Promags to someone you want to have sleepless nights, develop MFD (magazine failure disorder) or those who have done you wrong in the past.

I have a couple of 4546's. I qualified with one a few weeks ago, using old short nose 185gr JSWC bullets. In 36 years, I have yet to find a bullet that these 45's wouldn't feed.

I use a Menck 10mm recoil buffer, in case I want to carry bear loads.
