Thanks, :) I will do my best with the range report, but it may be a "few" days. Meanwhile...

I should rename this thread "4513 sighted, 4566 caught in the net" :D

The gun came with black controls except the slide stop, so I have to see if that is original. The SCSW clearly states "fitted with black hardware on frame and slide".

I also have two different grips, straight and round, three different magazines (two came with, one was among my gun show finds), and a flashlight with no battery.

They did tell me that a bunch of boxes came with that lot, but only a few matched the guns, and none matched mine. S/n is VJH16xx. According to the SCSW, that dates it to 2002 or so.

I need to do some reading, so if anyone has a link to some good 4566 TSW info, please DO share, because doing a search brings up just a few too many threads.

It looks like it has a flat slide stop from a 4516.

... And not a bad price either, considering the current stupidity in gun availability and pricing....
For some reason, nice 3rd gen guns are showing up lately. Cabelas in Richfield, Wisconsin has a nice 5906 that was not an LEO trade-in, with new bright night sights front and rear, new grips, two mags, and hardly a scratch.

I have not seen it in person, but a friend had it in his hands. Been there a week, and just went on the web site today.

They also have a nice all-black Model 59 with little wear, and I just happen to know they will negotiate on that one down to about $650. I was considering it, when the other deal got in the way. Needs a good home ;)

Well, he dropped the price and I gave in to temptation. Now to find ammo for it
Matching case with paperwork.

Congrats Heymatt! :)

Looking forward to your range report! Regards 18DAI

Any recommendations on what 4513tsw's run best with?

I've run white box ball to HST, no feed issues at all. 185gr seemed to run low, any 230gr was spot-on.

18DAI should report more precise results, him being the GEN III Guardian of the Range.

Martya, thank you again my friend, for finding me my rail free 7 round 4513TSW! :)

All of my 4513s, standard production and Performance Center models, eat everything. If it fits in the mag, it will chamber and fire.

For defensive ammo, there was only one that wasn't accurate in 3 of my 4513s - Sig 230 V-Crown. It would shoot a 5 inch pattern. None of my 4513s I tried with it liked it. Come to think of it, none of my other 3rd gen 45s liked that round either.

All of the "Big 3" - Speer, Federal and Winchester - work great. I would not hesitate to recommend any Gold Dot, HST or Ranger round for self defense.

Back when my agency used Speer 230 Gold Dot, we had good street results. And we had the same with Ranger 230 RA45T. My personal choice, to date, is the 230 RA45T. Kills bugs dead and all of my 3rd gen 45s - except for the CS45 - shoot it reliably into tiny groups.

The CS45 is my problem child. It won't reliably function with RA45T. So, it gets either Speer 230 Gold Dot, or Federal 230 HST or Hydra-Shok. Whatever is handy. It shoots all of those rounds well and reliably. Hope this helps! Regards 18DAI
