4516-2 Mags

I picked up a 4516-2 and a 945 Performance Center pawnshop finds. Each came with one mag. Anyone have a spare mag or two for each in good condition (reliable springs and followers)? Thanks!

Actually that's a question I've had for a while. …. On eBay I see 6- and 7-rd mags advertised for S&W models CS45, 457, 4516 (-1 &-2), 4513, etc.

Are all the mags for these compact 45XX series guns interchangeable? … Or if not, which mags fit which models?

4516, 4516-1, 4516-2, 457, and 4513TSW-7rd mags are similar but evolved 7rd mags.

The early 4516 are orange follower, the 4516-1 is yellow follower with some mods at top feeding lip. The 4516-2 and 457 (and 4513TSW 7rd) are identical and the final evolution with black follower and further top metal changes. Supposedly the 4516-2 mags are backwards compatible but the earlier mags are not recommended (but are reported to work) in the 4516-2.

Early 4513TSW6rd are shorter and CS45 is a similar but not identical 6rd. Neither will work in the 4516 variants.

4506, 4506-1 are longer 8rd but will work in a 4516 if you dont mind mag sticking out.

I stand corrected original 945 and 945-1 mags could be 6rd, 7rd, or 8rd or even one 945 variant (945-40) was 40SW but most common version I believe was 8rd. I will let others respond to the 945 magazine interchangeability question but they should be marked Performance Center.

The 945 mag depends on what model he has . There are 6 ,7 & 8 rd mags , so if he's asking he needs to say which one .

OK so that raises the question - are the 945 8rd mags the same as 4516-2/457 mags. As I recall the 645 mags had metal base and may (or may not) have problems with the later plastic base mags.

Sevens has cover this before . The early 945 8rd mags have 2 slots , they were taking 8rd 45 mags and cutting the slot for the new 945's , then marked them PC . The 457 mags are 7rd , don't know if they'll fit the smaller 945's or not . There's also the 40cal 945 .

My bad - I was thinking 945 8rd vs 4506/4506-1 8rd but I got sidetracked and mixed pistols with first part of original post. Thanks cherrpointmarine for the reminder about the 945 mags and photos.
