I was at a gun show recently. My wife was purchasing a Glock 43 for carry at a booth offering almost exclusively Glocks. Not being a Glock kind of guy, I was surprised to see two stainless steel semi autos on display. I didn't know the model designation on them but I did see "Tactical" inscribed on the slide. Some research leads me to believe they are model 4566 with a 4" barrel, as opposed to the 4506 with the five inch barrel. He was asking $599 each for them. Can anyone give me more information on the Tactical and possibly some experience comments? Is it a good gun worth pursuing?

Picked one up off gun broker a bit over a year ago for $430
It was like new on the steel,, but the grips were a bit scratched up,, (scratched not scraped)
First 3 shots at about 20 ft. went through the same hole barely making a clover leaf group!
Feeds ANYTHING 185 gr, jhp, 230gr. fmj .
The 5906 9mm and the 4566 45acp are the most reliable and accurate of any auto pistol I have ever used.
Maybe you can tell ,,I think very highly of the 3rd generation smith autos.

Very much worth it, but not at that price. You can find them on gunbroker from between $350-500.

And they're 4.25" like a Commander 1911. Only problem I have with them is I can't find 10rd Mags like I can for a 1911 or P220.

I have a 4513 TSW that says tactical on the slide. There was a Tactical series of stainless semi-autos.

They're easily the equal of any other production pistol.
Very underrated by most shooters.

I have a 4566 (not the Tactical version) and wouldn't trade it for all the tea in China. Great pistols. It cycles anything I run through it, including empty brass.
But, don't tell anyone. We want to keep them all for ourselves.

I saw a 4566TSW at a gun show a few years ago but there was a 29-3 3" at the very next table so I had to make one of those 'life decisions' and the 29 came home with me. I love my 3" 29-3 but I still lust after that particular model. It just felt so right in my hand.
