Hey ladies and gentlemen, just wanted to ask a quick question. Since trying to research it after I bought a just about new 4583TSW, and haven't found more than a WORD or TWO here and there even HERE!!!!!! I know I amongst people who eat breath and sleep S&W, and trust me, I do love them....BUT I can't help but wonder if I have made a huge mistake buying it (and yes, I bought it because I love it, love the trigger pull, light, crisp, predictable, the proportions, everything about it I love) or if i was brilliant for picking it up for $275.00 out the door with 2 mags, and like I said, the gun doesnt have hardly a scratch on it. Anyways, Please let me here about your 4583s if you have them....dunno if they made them as NON TSW, but if they did, tell me about those too...I have made this my primary carry gun now (yes, I now conceal a damn near full sized .45 automatic...a pain in the ass sometimes, but the trade off is worth it) But guys and girls, let me know im not alone here, tell me some of you have them, like them, dont like them, I still wanna hear from you with your thoughts on them!!!! PLEASE

Well, I re-read your post three times to make sure I read it right, but if you paid $275 OTD for a 4583TSW, you got a STEAL. It's probably worth $300 more than what you paid. I think they are great guns!

Wow, jayrod,

It sounds terrific. what is the difference between the 4583 & the 4586?

8 or 10 ounces...give or take...

You can't post about a new gun you bought and not have pics, it is one of the unwritten rules of all gun forums.

You stole that gun!
Only possible issue is choosing a holster for it, due to the accessory rail. If you mount a light, there are a couple of holsters for that gun with a light mounted on it.
They are terrific guns and you did very well. Avoid hot +P ammo because of the aluminum frame. Regular 45 loads will be fine and the gun will last a long time.

Hey,
Thanks for the responses....I got five posts....five. I guess that means that there are more than the four people out there that own one but not many more. I am curious if any of you have any idea how many of these were manufactured and for what years they were made. Also andyo5, I have found that without accessories mounted, a holster for Sig 228/229 works perfectly!! just happened to have one kicking around too, so was rather happy to not have to shell out the dough for something that may or may not fit. I took it out just a few days ago, and decided to try some shooting from a rest for groups and was truely QUITE impressed, this gun is continueing to impress me every time i take it out or just pick it up!!

I believe they were first catalogued in 2000, and were made for several years. In recent years they were only made for LE orders. I'm sure there are several thousand in circulation. Ray's in Plainfield, NJ used to have a bunch of them, both new and used (they were a big LE dealer).
