I am about to start shooting uspsa single stack after years of IDPA esp. I will shooting 230 gr Rainier's and have several powders stored up. Like most everyone else I will hover just above the 165 power factor. I have WST, 231/38, titegroup, bullseye any unique. I have gone through my manuals and a pretty good idea of a recipe for each of the listed powders. Anyone that shoots uspsa ss regularly with one of the above please weigh in.
thanks

I use Unique (6 grains) with my 230 grain bullets. Point of aim and point of impact are the same as hardball, so is this spot that they eject to....can't be very far off.

They make major with no problem...don't remember the velocity but could go look it up if it would help. Might work out well for you also...

W 231 would be my first choice.
Bullseye was the choice of many back in the 80's & 90's for IPSC / USPSA. I've used many a pound of Bullseye and since W231 has been hard to come by ,, I'm back to using Bullseye.

I've used Titegroup, personally I don't care for it. Small volume in the case, and it burns hot and not a recommended powder for some bullets like Precision Bullets ( coated ).

I prefer a powder that fills the case about 40 + percent. Just an extra safety step. Easier to notice if I mess up something..

Unique is a good powder , but doesn't meter that great..

My favorite 230 gr 45 acp load was with Trap 100. But they quit making it several years ago.

231 has long been a favorite powder in USPSA for 45acp, as has WST. Actually anything that will easily make PF will work.

You can't go wrong with Bullseye or 231. WST is great too. I could be wrong but I believe Bullseye is a little cleaner than 231. WST will probably be the most uniform on the chronograph.
