oh...i'm out there.
Presently one of my most desired handguns is the hk Mark 23 or MK 23. It's big and heavy, limited in it's application but a joy to shoot and an impressive piece of machinery... kind of like a model 4506. I think it would be cool if S&W made a serious tactical .45 along the lines of the MK 23, with the same features; DA/SA trigger, spurred hammer, threaded bbl., etc. It might be based on the M&P with features from some of their other "storied" guns like the 4506/1006 and 745/945. I dunno, I'm just sayin...
 
I'm pretty happy with my HK Mark 23 just as it is - no need for S&W to try to make one. Incidentally, because of its polymer frame, in spite of its size, it's exactly the same weight as a standard 1911A1. Here's a pic:

Note to moderators: I don't consider this a "girly pic" - Jamie just happens to be beautiful; she posed for a Dillon Blue Press cover with my Mark 23. I didn't let her keep it, though!
