I have the M&P 9c and soon to have the M&P 45C. Will they fit the same holsters? I do not have the thumb safety, will a crimson trace that fits the 9C fit the 45C. Thanks for help with this.....

As far as holsters go, some may work with both, but some will not.

I have the 45c; it's not as easy to find holsters as it is for the 9c. The 45s are wider through slide and frame, so a snug 9 holster will not fit a 45.

As far as CT grip backstraps go, I don't know if they are interchangeable.

Internally, the sears are not interchangeable, either - if you decide to tune the gun, you need either 9/40 parts, or 45 specific parts.

The M&P 45 has a much wider slide compared to the 9 so I wouldn't count on holsters being common.

i don't think either one will work. the 45 has entirely different dimensions. if you had a full size m&p 9 i think you would be okay all around but not with the compact.

I have a K&D Thunderbird Defender (no longer made) and a Don Hume 721OT. Both will carry my 45c and my 9c.

I saw a Desantis thumb break holster the other day in the store that was marked M&P 9/40, and 45C, but I also saw a speed holster that said M&P 9/40. I'm not sure what that means.

I,m in the same boat. I have an M&P 9c and just purchased a 45c. I have been carrying the 9c in a Galco TUC474 IWB holster and it is well worn in and the 45 fits it perfectly.

As to the Crimson Trace, they have NOT come out with one for the 45c yet.

I use a DOH bladetech for USPSA. IT will fit my 9fs and 45 if i let the tension screws out a bit for the 45.
