460 PC 10.5"

I am thinking about getting a machinist friend of mine to make a bipod mount that fits on the barrel sling mounting area of a 10.5" 460 PC model. Can anyone think of down side to this endeavor?

It sounds like a great idea if it's a quick release mount. Goodness knows those guns are heavy enough already.
