Recently acquired this top break 32sw 4th model revolver is stellar condition with a serial number 117,xxx and I was wondering what production year it might be and how much it might be worth. Original grips and nickel. Matching SN cylinder and the top of the barrel has "Smith & Wesson Springfield Mass. U.S.A. PAT'D Jan 24 65 July 11 65 AUG 24 69 REISSUE JULY 25 71 May 11 80 Jan 3 82" and the damn thing seems to work! Functions how expected, but haven't seen a gunsmith to do a safety check to see if I could fire it. Don't think I would anyhow. If anyone could estimate the production year or value, that would be great. My guess is between 1885-1887. Should I request a letter of authenticity?
