5 shot 45 ACP Revolver in Airlite frame

I have a 325sc & I believe the school of thought is to get as many shots as possible out of the frame size. Finding 5 shot 45acp moonclips well I guess you could make your own. Charter Arms just came out with a 5 shot 45 acp revolver that doesn't require moonclips due to the extraction system they feature.

And S&W L frame's cylinder is to small for a 5 shot 45ACP. I have a model 69 and I measured very carefully as I do have a reamer.

Another carefully considered point by steelslaver; I remember your metallurgical posts on the ill-fated 'Scandium thread.' Yet Taurus, for all its faults, managed to mount a 5-shot .44Spl cylinder in their K-frame equivalents, the 441 and 431, IIRC.

A 4"bbl, 5-shot HB Model 10/64 in .44Spl. The thought boggles the mind...

P.S. Hey steelslaver, can you help me with my math homework? ;)

No help on the math although I did get an A in college algebra. Did you read the entire thread? The cost of pure Scandium is way lower than quoted by the author. Taurus may have been able to do it but, S&W L frame cylinders is different and if bored to 45ACP it would be pretty thin on the outside chamber wall plus it has a larger diameter ratchet part than a Taurus, and the L frame's cylinder window would need to be enlarged for a larger cylinder. Check out this thread or get a 69 and some calibers. http://smith-wessonforum.com/s-w-re...6368-model-69-45-cal-conversion-findings.html
