5 years later, Walmart to launch its answer to Amazon Prime

My Walmart visit: I purchased a Laptop Computer and after a couple days the lid started to be difficult to open. I returned to the Walmart Department where I had purchased it and show it to the clerk. The clerk refused to touch it as He said it was against store policy to touch it and I would have to take it to a repair shop.

My Social Security health insurance company gives me a $100 quarterly stipend to spend on some health needs, it works only with Walmart. I thought at first it was going to be a true benefit, turns out to be very limited in what is available, doesn't address my needs very well. I have used Walmart items in the past and did not care for their "house" products, as long as I could use the name brand they were OK.

I do shop at Walmart, did this AM.
Bought groceries and 20 Gauge Slugs.
And Birthday Cards for SIL and Granddaughter.
I am a Amazon Primer, the Video alone pretty much worth the cost.
That's the only place I pay to shop.
I hope Walmart can come up with a shopping service that will rival amazon.
Walmart online ain't that bad right now, but it's not as good as Amazon.
Competition is good for consumers!
Competition not that good for merchants who have a problem competing!

Roughly 9 months ago a large group of major retailers sent Congress a request for more gun control. Walmart signed the letter. That put them on my list of retailers to avoid. I make exceptions only in rare cases when I can not get something elsewhere. Their new service will not change that. I do not spend enough at Wal-Mart to justify paying them a membership fee.

For $10 a month Netflix has enough TV type shows for me.

Gotta love Wal-Mart stock. I first started buying it 25 years ago.

congrats - nice choice and a wise choice.

I enjoy financial topics of our F500 companies , I have learned the following.
$10K invested in 2010 , has grown into $36K today.

since you have been invested for 25+ years , you have enjoyed 2 for 1 stock splits in 1993 & 1999...
well done:cool:

We have a Sam's Club Store and a Costco about 12 miles from me and I have never been a member and I also shop Amazon but am not now nor ever been a member of Amazon prime and have no intention of ever signing up.

If there ever comes a time I cannot physically get to a store I might consider something like this.

The Amazon Hook are the Movies.
I don't really like the concept of paying to shop, but I like the movies and convenience of Amazon.
Last week I Looked in 3 stores for Vit B12, 3000 units.
No go. Looked at Amazon, pushed the button, it's on the truck.
Did I mention that I don't really like to shop?
