Has anybody experience reloading cast bullets in their 50ae? I have some 400gr RN Flatpoints I use in the 500 magnum, and would like a safe place to start with H4227 (or other powder.)

Most load manuals stop at 325 or 335, and those are jacketed bullets.

I too have a Freedom Arms 555 and find the published data lacking. I'm guessing your gun is also a FA?

I would start with the minimum charges listed for the .500 Wyoming Express and work up from there.

If your going to be shooting those .50AEs in a Desert Eagle I wouldn't use cast bullets. The DE is gas powered and if you get lead in the gas passage it would be dang near impossible to get out. I'd stick with jacketed bullets.
On the other hand if you're going to be shooting them in something else then go for it.

Was going to load them for my Grizzly. Me and the Dessert Eagle didn't get along, sold it for the LAR Griz.
