While at the range last week, the grip on my 52-1 loosened up so I put it in my range bag and went home. When I went to clean the gun the next day I noticed that the grip screw and the frame stud/bushing were missing. I have called S&W and several other places and can't locate a replacement (I have the grip screw). Does anyone have a clue where I can locate a frame stud? It have to be round, not hex, to fit the grips. I will appreciate any help you can give me.

It should be the same as those used on the Model 39 and subsequent variations. Have you tried Numrich?

Good idea, but they are sold out. The later studs (newer 39's and possibly the 52-2?) have a hex shape. There are some of those on Gunbroker. The one for the 52-1 is round. Thanks.

The bushing may still be with you. Have you tried searching your range bag using a magnet? I've had this occur with the grip screw stud on one of my 1911's, but the stud stayed with the screw in the grip.
