Hi guys,

So, this thread seems to describe a very similar (maybe identical) issue that I'm having.

Shooting today (this is the first time it's happened), two or three times during a 60 round session (I can't remember which, but it was definitely no more than 3, I want to say 2), the hammer followed the slide after inserting a fresh mag (slide locked open from empty mag), released slide via lever, hammer was at either "fired" position or half cock (didn't think to take note at the time).

Is the 52 similar enough to the 39 to follow the advice in the linked thread? What am I looking at/for? Replacing springs? Could a dirty gun cause this (it's not quite "filthy", but it hasn't been cleaned in a while).

If this is a parts replacement issue, which parts should I be looking for?

I cannot reproduce the failure at home dry, with or without a magazine inserted. It definitely happened though...

Just an update - gave it a good cleaning and inspection. Everything appears to be normal... Still unable to reproduce the problem.

Looks like you solved the problem on your own. Don't forget that the Model 52 is like a fine instrument with precise fittings which needs to be kept clean.
