I finally broke down and outbid people for a 52-2 on Gunbroker.

The pistol shoots so smoothly I cannot believe that's a stock trigger. Wow.

Here is my problem, if you have any suggestions:
I get 1 or 2 light primer strikes per 10 rounds, and almost always on the first round from the mag (that I think is just dumb luck).

I just swapped out the firing pin spring and cleaned that chamber, and still had problem today with light strikes.

Mainspring issue? I just ordered one so we'll see. Has anyone had an issue? Any other ideas? I have not changed anything except the firing pin spring, and have no knowledge of the pistol's history.

Thanks!

A dirty firing pin tunnel would have been my first guess, which you already cleaned.

The new mainspring you ordered would have been my next guess. Hopefully that will resolve the issue.

Assuming these are your reloads it is a classic sign of high primers. Are they firing on the second try? Just check them closely for a while. If these are factory rounds then you are probably on the right track by changing out springs.
